ABOUT ROSI AND KEITH

KEITH HARRISON

I worked for many years in the mental health profession, running therapy and self-development groups as well as counselling individuals. I have been involved in shamanism since the early 1990s, studying under pioneering teachers Leo Rutherford, of Eagle's Wing, and Sandra Ingerman, also native healers from South America and Africa. I am a Reiki Two practitioner, Tai Chi teacher, musician (various drums, saxophone, blues harmonica, didgeridoo), poet and traditional story-teller.

My professional life was spent mainly as curator in charge of the huge Renier Collection of children's books at Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood in London. I have always been interested in other worlds, and have recorded my dreams for over 45 years. Books by the medium Betty Shine introduced me to techniques of visualisation, and I began to experiment with simple healing methods. I then trained with the National Federation of Spiritual Healers and took workshops on animal healing, colour healing, dream work, astrology and crystals, all of which helped me channel my sensitivity and increase my responsiveness to the energy body and to alternative worlds. In the 1990s I studied Reiki with Sandra Straw in London for three years, being attuned to the Master level in the Great Pyramid in Egypt. In 2000, following a devastating period of demonic possession, I experienced profound transformation through the healing power of the trance dance. A brief account of this experience is given in Leo Rutherford's book Shamanic Path Workbook, 2006. I have since studied shamanic methods with various teachers including Leo Rutherford and Sandra Ingerman. My healings integrate all my experiences.

I am also an artist, and a published poet and writer (under my previous name, Tessa Rose Chester, as well as my current name). Books include A History of Children's Book Illustration written with J.I.Whalley (John Murray/V.& A., 1988) and Provisions of Light, poetry published by Oxford University Press in 1996. Keith and Rosi met in Peru in 2000 while studying native shamanic practices.

They now work from their home overlooking the beautiful Cardigan Bay in Ceredigion, West Wales, UK. They are members of the Society for Shamanic Practitioners (www.shamansociety.org) and have written the following articles for the shamanic journal Sacred Hoop (www.sacredhoop.org) :
